Antibiotic Man It's all crumbling down The towers and steeples They come in disease In all the colours of sickness Crashing down In they come Crashing down Here I die Cut off from my anti-bi... Antibiotics I... And their dead grey... They'll come from the sun, they'll come To heal me naturally, they'll come They'll come from the sun, they'll come To help me walk with a clear mind I open up and in they come To bring the temperature, they'll come Crashing down I'm hollowed out All shiny surface blue I'm allowed to feel new Like a burned alive shivering A monument to the end of time: a disease So I take a road and watch The gases reach Reaching out From the new beginning I'm Keens Vereeniging! You've got 2 weeks to destroy me...

Isness 03:26
Isness The light in the distance Bring it to me, bring it to me Place it on a stream The stream will teem with life Watch it breathe Life into me Isness It's green to the sea And blue from there When the time comes The tide will come And take me away Isness

Life Under Capitalism Who am I in your eyes? I cannot see me in your eyes The fear and the horror Are not mine The deceit, the depravity The greed, the desire Are not mine I shall not succumb The truth is magnificently liberating For it has set me free Free to do nothing In the cycle of endless choices on display How my insides revolt When all are transfixed by the glare By the charms, the thrill of voracity Mine shall be a mutiny A struggle to hold out at sea With the shore or infinity As my only choice...

A Sense Of Place Oh grey rocks and new green loves You understand the purpose of being Once I've crossed to your side I must burn the bridge Only then will I no longer fear The madness inside of me Only you can set free the dove Only you will tear down the cage I wish I could decipher The message in a season's change The sense in a broken heart Bleeding as it hangs from a branch Blending into the ground Blood and soil will resound Oh, listen to its sturdy beat I'm no longer frightened I see trees and hills and pagan rituals Secrets and sacrifices Burned and scattered Into fields and streams And something that's here That soothes as only Happiness can I wish I could decipher The message in a season's change The sense in a broken heart Bleeding as it hangs from a branch Blending into the ground Blood and soil will resound Oh, listen to its sturdy beat I'm no longer frightened

Life In Cities The city is a wild machine Gorging on our remnant dreams Grinding on voraciously It's belly turns and churns out The liquid dreams on which we feed As liquid beings we watch on while Our hearts once hollowed Turn to stone Bled dry and solidified Spanning rivers Breaching seas Cutting through hills Felling trees To cities they're lured The countless poor who will pave the streets With abandoned dreams of a better place A better body, a better faith All turned to stone My wanting is wasting Away on the beachhead Of my dormant desire I'm drowsed by seduction I'm fumbling in the rot For my life in cities You come to us from far away From beyond the furthest fields you come From places where they reproduce All of our sounds The sounds of laughter, the sounds of weeping The sounds of breathing, the sounds of sleep You've come to send it back to us Through your millions of cables My wanting is wasting Away on the beachhead Of my dormant desire I'm drowsed by seduction I'm fumbling in the rot For my life in cities

C The C 02:56
C The C It's bleeding dry The sky, the numbers, the nimbus Dragging along a long A long, long ambulance Leaving a trail under the wail of sirens Flooding the streets with all the liquid released C The C Covered by white sheets C The C Hiding our misdeeds There lie the bodies pumping blood and come Into a sea where all the whales are thumping Beneath the paper-thin surface threatening To break through and parade their grievances C The C Covered by white sheets C The C Hiding our misdeeds

Silent Spring The birds won't sing Their melodies trapped under layers of tar And an air so heavy No song could ever linger In this silent spring The birds won't sing For they've lost their wings And from their mouths Come only feathers The birds won't sing Now earth is covered under wings So fluffy and light As if ready for flight

River Banks 04:39
River Banks This is the river Where once mothers gave birth And later Where products were bottled And sent to thirsty countries And later Where savage wars were waged Now that the river's dry We line its banks in community Day after day we come And stand in line Hand in hand To fill it with our tears...

The Ground 05:37
The Ground Let this be the ground Which bears the fruit Which flowers into a single truth Let this be the ground Which breaks the fall And shreds our lies into a thousand petals Let this be the ground Which roots the naked frame entwined For all to contemplate The sounds of our suffering The horrified expression Which outlines our sense of self Flashed across the heavens Our violent desires We crush all that is beautiful And listen as she calls out your name And names all that which is wrong with you You, who would never save her You, who could never keep her streams From running dry She'll breathe you in And breathe out something pure And start anew Let this be the ground Which swallows us whole That springs forth in shoots To stem the degradation Let this be the ground Where lovers come to seed And breed a brand new generation And for those such as you Who are simply passing through She'll stand as a barren testament Of a once fertile land Where children played and lovers pranced And poets sang of her bounty Let this be the ground Which rings out the sound Of our cheering...

about

The title "Overthrow Of The Elites" stems from the Jared Diamond book "Collapse" ,where Diamond identifies the five factors that contribute to societal collapse, these being climate change, hostile neighbours, collapse of essential trading partners, environmental problems, and failure to adapt to environmental issues.
In his book he also deals with how societies have traditionally responded to these problems and to the failure of the ruling elites to solve them. It appears that one of these responses involves the ultimate overthrow of the elites by the angry masses.

It appears that we are fast approaching the moment where societies are rapidly coming to terms with fact that the current ruling elites are incapable of and/or unwilling to deal with the crises facing humanity and the planet we live on.

Overthrow Of The Elites consequently speaks of the human condition and tries to throw light on what it is about our species that has brought us to this perilous point in time. It hopes to provide a space for reflection and concepts to ponder on.

The album is ultimately a reaction to the current predicament and seeks to serve as a salve for the festering wound, opening up a space for reflection and concepts to ponder on. A timely clarion call for all to rise and salvage the dwindling embers of hope from the clutches of the gluttonous 1%.

The warning signs abound.
You need to listen carefully.
